New Bengali Film Chorabali Logo Launched
Upcoming Bengali film Chorabali’s logo was launched at the Max store in Rajarhat. The team of the film Chorabali consisting of Tathagata Banerjee, Shataf Figar, Barun Chanda, Malobika, Tanusree, director Subhrajit Mitra was present to unveil the logo of the film. The team also unveiled the Autumn ’15 collection of Max at the same event.
The film Chorabali will bring back eminent crime writer Agatha Christie on the celluloid. After Rituparno Ghosh, this is the second time that a director will be bringing the writer on screen.
Chorabali will show a young Agatha Christie, the role which has been played by actress Tanushree. The role of Hercule Poirot has been played by Barun Chanda. Malobika plays Ileana, a model and Mou plays the role of a police inspector named Ananya Rai.
Speaking at the occasion Tathagata Banerjee said “I am not an actor by profession and I am more comfortable behind the camera. I landed up with this role suddenly. The story and the script are interesting and hence I said yes to the film”.
Since the director and the cast were tightlipped about the story nothing much was revealed about the story. “Reading an Agatha Christie story is interesting but adapting her story for a film is challenging and difficult. There was another challenge that I had to make the story acceptable for the Bengali audience” said the director Subhrajit Mitra.
Tanusree who plays the role of Agatha Christie said “This is my first stint as a writer on screen. I have been a fan of the stories of Agatha Christie. To be able to portray the writer on screen is indeed a huge privilege for me. We had fun shooting the film”.
The film will release by year end.
