World Photography Day celebrated with an exhibition of exclusive Photographs by International Photographers

To celebrate the 176th year of photography, a photography exhibition was inaugurated at Nandan by eminent film maker Sekhar Das and photo-artist Madhu Sarkar.

The photography exhibition has been organized by National Academy of Photography and Persona-International. 175 international photographers have participated in the exhibition from twelve countries. Ninety six students of National Academy of Photography have participated in this exhibition. Their photographs are also available for sale. The average price of photographs is between Rs 3000 to Rs 5000. The photographs of the international artists are however not for sale.

“This is the eleventh year that we are conducting such an exhibition. It is heartening to see that there is a rising awareness among the people to buy photographs. This is a growing trend and we are welcoming this trend with open hands. This will give the young photographers encouragement too” said Madhu Sarkar.

Filmmaker Sekhar Das was in awe of the pictures and he congratulated the effort that the young students put into organizing such an event.

The exhibition will continue till the 25th of August at Nandan between 2pm to 8pm.
