Internationally acclaimed ad filmmaker Bauddhayan Mukherji’s upcoming film Teenkahon’s press conference took place recently in the august presence of Imtiaz Ali, Suman Mukhopadhyay, Dhritiman Chaterji, Rituparna Sengupta, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and others.
The film Teenkahon is spread over a period of hundred years. The film has three stories which have been structured in the manner of the classical three act play. Each story focuses on exploring one side of an obsessive relationship outside the domains of marriage.
The first film is a period piece which showcases the emotional obsession of an eight year old boy for a newly married girl. The other stories similarly delve deep into the different aspects of human relationships and create an interesting plot around the stories. The second story for instance showcases the role played by men in the life of a woman who ended her life for unknown reasons. The third film on the other hand will look in the darkness of human beings and how manipulative human relationships have become.
Debutante director Bauddhayan Mukherji said “I had actually promised myself that my first film will be in Bengali. I am glad I have been able to keep my promise that I made to myself. As the release date is coming near, I am feeling happy and also tensed at the same moment”.
Ace Bollywood filmmaker Imtiaz Ali said “I am glad that I am presenting this film to the audience. This film will showcase what difference a director can make to cinema. The Bengali audience will surely be glad to watch this film”.
The film is slated for release on the 11th of September.
