Upcoming Bengali Film Katmundu Music Launch
“I am not a singer. My singing stints are limited only to the bathroom. And in this film Anupam made me sing a song along with Rudranil and Soham. I knew he was courageous, but not this much” said actor Abir Chatterjee with a smile. The actor was present along with director Raj Chakraborty, Saswata Chatterjee, Srabonti, Anupam Roy, Nabarun Bose, Sham, Rudranil Ghosh, Mahua Lahiri, Padmanava Dasgupta and others for the music launch of this upcoming Bengali film.
The story of the film Katmundu is about three software engineers named Pablo, Sidhu and Sunny. They work in a finance firm and their boss Mr. Ayioswami never allows them a leave. Under much stress, they go to a doctor who advises them to go on a holiday. They manage to get a leave from their boss and head straight to Nepal. They meet three girls namely Rai, Pallavi and Kanchi. The girls are at loggerhead with the boys. Trouble ensues when they find that their boss had also come to the same place. What happens next is what the film all about.
“This is my first venture with Raj Chakraborty and I must say it was a pleasurable experience. I have tried to make the songs different and unlike me. Hope they like the effort that I have put in the songs. There are six songs in the film. Shreya Ghoshal, Arijit Singh, Nabarun Bose, Prashmita Paul, Abir, Soham, Rudranil and I have sung the songs in the film” said music composer Anupam Roy. The lyrics of five songs have been written by Anupam Roy while one song “Sidhu Sunny Pablo” has been written by Padmanava Dasgupta.
Looking pretty in a short floral printed dress, actress Srabonti cast a pretty picture. “I take great pride in announcing that I and Mimi were far more courageous and adventurous than the boys. We had a scene where we had to go paragliding. While we agreed, the boys all gave excuses of heights and other such things. It was a fun time shooting the paragliding sequence” said the actress.
Sirsha Ray is the DOP of the film. “Katmundu has been shot beautifully in the picturesque locales of Nepal. We were lucky that we got to capture the beauty of the place before such a tragedy hit the place and destroyed so many heritage sites” said director Raj Chakraborty.
The film is slated for release on the 16th of October.
