Short Film Waiting Room Screening
With the idea of short films fast gaining acceptance among the audiences, film makers are now aggressively making short films for the viewers. Director Samiran also took the plunge in this field and made a short film titled Waiting Room. The screening of the film took place at Gallery Gold in the august presence of actress Locket Chatterjee and singer Sidhu.
Waiting room is director Samiran’s second venture after Rashbihari More. The film Waiting Room is about two lovers Shreejon and Shree. They fall in love only to be separated by the political violence of the period. What happens next is what the film all about. Written by Shilpi Jagani, the music of the film has been composed by Mayuk-Mainak. Singer Anwesha has lent her voice to the songs in the short film.
“Samiran is a dear friend and I am glad he is continuing with making short films. Today people want films to be short and precise so that they do not take much time. In such a scenario, making of short films is a boon for the audience. With Sujoy Ghosh and Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury also venturing into the short film genre, it will give a boost to many aspiring short film makers” said actress Locket Chatterjee.
Sidhu also highlighted that short film making is on the rise. “Telling a story within a small time frame is challenging and this will be indeed motivating for film makers” said the singer.
The half an hour short film got positive appreciation from both the celebrities and the audiences alike, thereby inspiring the director to make such films in the near future.
