Bengali Film Har Har Byomkesh Trailer and First look Launch
It is indeed a rare event when nearly all the cast members of a film are present during a press conference. The same happened during the trailer and first look launch of the upcoming Bengali film Har Har Byomkesh. Director Arindam Sil along with the cast members including Abir Chatterjee, Nusrat Jahan, June Maliah, Ritwick Chakraborty, Shadab Kamal, Sohini Sarkar, Rachel White, Deepankar De, Subrat Dutta, Harsh Chhaya and others was present at the event.
Based on Saradindu Bandopadhyay’s story Banhi Patanga, the film has Abir Chatterjee as Byomkesh, Sohini sarkar as Satyabati and Ritwick Chakraborty as Ajit. Speaking about his role, Abir Chatterjee said “I was asked by my fans why I was not portraying the character of Byomkesh anymore. I realized that they wanted to see me again playing the role of the sleuth and when I got the offer, I readily agreed”.
Director Arindam Sil was full of praises for the whole team. “We all have worked as a complete unit. After every shot, we all used to say Har Har Byomkesh spontaneously. You can see the unity of the unit even today also. We have turned up even before the media could arrive, which is a rare incident” said the director with a smile.
Nusrat who plays the role of Shakuntala in the film said “I was actually happy when I was offered the role of Shakuntala. With Arindam Sil’s help, I hope I could do justice to the character and bring her alive on screen”.
The character of Narmada Shankar is played by actor Subrat Dutta. “When I got a call from Arindam, I was busy with my work schedules. I said how can I come to Kolkata for the shoot as I don’t have the time. When he said he was shooting in Benaras, I readily agreed. We shot for thirteen-fourteen hours every day but the entire unit was so cordial, that we all had an excellent time on the set” said the actor.
Shadab Kamal was ecstatic to be part of a Bengali film. “I had always wanted to be a part of a Bengali film. With this film my wish was fulfilled. I have not read the story as I cannot read Bengali. However, I stuck to the script and portrayed the character. I however plan to read the story in English though”.
Looking beautiful in a black and gold bordered sari, actress Sohini Sarkar cast a pretty picture. “Comparisons are bound to happen as I am playing the role of Satyabati which have been played by many actresses before. But we are all different individuals and our expressions are different. Hence, I will be portraying the character as I perceive it” said the actress.
The film is slated for release during the month of December.
