In the august presence of Kaushik Ganguly, Dibyendu Barua, Manash Kumar Bhattacharya, Anupam Roy, Bidesh Bose, Krishna Bose, Dr. Amit Chakraborty and others, the Anti-Tobacco jingle was released at an event held at a city hotel. The Anti-Tobacco jingle has been composed by eminent singer-lyricist Anupam Roy. The event was organized by MANT (Manbhum Ananda Ashram Nityananda Trust).
Speaking at the occasion, Anupam Roy said “The ad jingle is my way of doing something for the society. Despite the music assignments I already had, I said yes to the project because I felt I should do something for the society. With this jingle, hopefully we will be able to stop youngsters from getting addicted to tobacco and save themselves from the consequences”.
The one minute jingle has been made in three languages namely Hindi, Bengali and English so as to reach to a wider section of the society. Nirmalya Mukherjee, Director Planning, MANT said “Even the common people must help us. Four or five of us cannot do everything. Youngsters idolize their fathers and whatever they do, they follow. This is the way in which they start smoking. The parents should themselves quit smoking to let their children avoid this habit. Or else more and more people will suffer from cancers and die from this disease”.
Ace director Kaushik Ganguly who was also present at the occasion said “I am not the right person to speak about anti-Tobacco. However the initiatives taken up by MANT are excellent and hopefully they will be able to prevent youngsters from becoming addicted to this grave habit”.
With such noble initiatives taken up by MANT coupled by the jingle by Anupam Roy, one can surely expect that youngsters will stay away from tobacco and save themselves from harm.
