After the highly appreciated adaptation of ‘Byomkesh’, COLORS Bangla is back again to entertain the audience by adapting the short stories of Tagore for the small screen. Directed by director duo Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha, ‘Robi Thakur erGolpo’ will surely appeal to the audiences.
Director duo AbhijitGuha and Sudeshna Roy said, “Rabindranath Tagore is ageless and therein is his magic. The audience of today will find this world engaging as well. We are keeping our fingers crossed and we hope that the viewer’s enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed making it for them.”
Rabindranath’s stories mostly deal with social issues like poverty, illiteracy, marriage and gender disparities, which are relatable and pertinent even today. Timeless and hugely popular stories of the extolled author, like Dena Paona, Samapti, Kabuliwala, Post Master, KhokababurProtyabortan, Manihara, JeebitoMrityu, Modhyobortini, Manbhanjan, NoshtoNeer, StreerPotro, will be showcased in the series.
The uniqueness of the show lies in the fact that the classic stories will be told in a modern and smart format where each story will be seamlessly woven into the next. The show has been fashioned in a distinct way where, for the first time, there will be a two-fold storyline of fiction within fiction. Every story will be narrated in three episodes and will feature popular faces from Tollywood.
The episodes have been shot in the streets and by-lanes of Kolkata, around heritage buildings and landmark localities, which ooze the old ‘Calcutta’ charm.
The first story to be aired is Dena Paona followed by Samapti.
‘Robi Thakurer Golpo’ is aired from Thursday – Saturday at 9 PM, only on COLORS Bangla.
