The location is Club Salon near Sarat Bose Road. Kartik could be seen giving Gonesh a head massage. If you are wondering whether Ma Durga is again back with her two sons, then you are wrong. Kartik and Gonesh are the characters of the upcoming Bengali film Mon Churi directed by Premasish Dey.
Saswata Chatterjee plays the role of Kartik in the film who is a barber and also a burglar. “The reason why Club Salon has been selected for this interaction is because I play the role of a barber in the film. The tragedy in his life is that he can rob people but does not know how to win the heart of a woman. Whenever he likes a woman he has to shave her husband’s beard or cut the hair of the woman’s would be husband. Hence he is on a mission to learn how to win the heart of a single woman” said Saswata Chatterjee.
The actor who mentioned that he did not have a single facial in his life was not much conscious about hair spas or similar issues. “I just cut my hair from a good salon. I am not at all conscious about such issues. Many of my colleagues are much more conscious. I just keep track of my looks and fitness when I have to play roles likes Shabor. Otherwise I eat and gain body weight” added the actor. He also said that had this been Bollywood or Hollywood, much news would have been made about the actor losing or gaining weight. The actors in Tollywood get about a month’s time at the most to gain or lose weight. Despite being so challenging, not much is written about them.
Saswata Chatterjee did not have to undergo any training to play the role of the barber. “I do not have any shots which show that I am cutting the hair. Hence I did not have to do any research” said the actor.
Koneenika who plays the role of Gonesh’s wife said “I had a great time shooting the film. In between shoots, I used to gorge on all kinds of snacks like Alurchop, Beguni and other such items. I have never eaten so much in any of the films that I have shot till now”.
Director Premasish Dey who is the captain of this laugh riot mentioned that this is a genuinely rib tickling comedy film. There is no slapstick element and the audiences will have a great time at the theatres.
Produced by Eastern Entertainment, the film is slated for release on the 4th of December.
