The wintry evening of 20th December, 2015 will be remembered forever for its musical magnificence as the finalists performed to an audience of 8000 under an open sky at Eco Park. The first of its kind in India, the event saw live performances on all tracks.
The four hour long event summed up the passionate journey of the young enthusiastic finalist participants. How they waited for their talent to be discovered, how they got the platform, received mentorship from celebrated musicians and singers and imbibed within themselves the true meaning of music is the tale of these finalists.
90 Musicians played on stage, 200 Khol Players along with Kirtan, 35 Dhakis, Violin Brothers with the Entire group of 31 Violinists, 4 Mouth Organists Live on Stage, Sitar and sarod by Kishore Singh Soda Group ensured that music was never in short of at the event.
Authentic folk instruments used in the Grand Finale consisted of Dhamsa Madol Group – Tribe from Sundarbans, Manipuri Pung Players (they play while jumping off ground), Assamese Bihu Dhol, Pepa, Nepali Madol Singa and Big drums.
Musical arrangement of this event has been done by Pandit Tanmoy Bose, Prabuddha Bannerji, Kalika Prasad and Rathijit.
Authentic Indian dance forms like Jhumur, Bihu, Dhamail,Raibesha( Murshidabad), Chau ( Purulia), Dhakir Naach( Murshidabad), Manipuri, Odissi, Kathak, Thaiyam were also presented at the event.
Aditi Munsi (Baguihati), Tulika Gangadhar (Nadia), Soumyo (Purulia), Rishi (Malda), Dipan (Kolkata), Adrij( Murshidabad), Durnibar (Kolkata), Adrija (Konnagar, Hoogly) and Sairaj (Mirik) were the finalists at the event.
Shantanu Moitra, Shubha Mudgal, Palash Sen and Koushiki Chakraborty were the judges at this Grand Finale. Arijit Singh was the special guest who also sang a few of his hit numbers at the event and added to the extravaganza that this event is.
The grand finale will be aired on 10th January 2016 at 7pm on Zee bangle.
