Hindole Majumdar’s Tabla Solo Album Mesmerizing Rhythm Launched
Hindole Majumdar who is a well known tabla player recently released his tabla solo album Mesmerizing Rhythm in the presence of dignitaries like Joy Sarkar, Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya, Sanchita Bhattacharya, Pandit Kumar Bose and others. The event was held at the Press Club.
Hindole Majumdar started learning tabla from the tender age of five and gave his first performance at the age of ten years. He received training under various teachers namely Sri Shibshankar Karmakar, Pandit Sankha Chatterjee and Bidwan Pandit Shekhar. He has accompanied many eminent musicians all over the globe and collaborated with world class percussionists too.
The music album Mesmerizing Rhythm contains three tracks namely- Teentaal, Rupak Taal and Laggi in Dadra. Hindole Majumdar has been ably accompanied on Sarangi by Farooque Lateef Khan.
Speaking at the occasion, Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya said “Hindole never wastes time and is very sincere. This is what I like so much about him. His efforts at taking tabla to international audience are commendable too. Moreover I very much appreciate his love for his mother Late Sunanda Majumdar for whom he is organizing this musical evening. I wish him all the luck”.
Odissi dance exponent Sanchita Bhattacharya said “I have come to know that Hindole’s mother was a Kathak dancer herself. My suggestion is that Hindole should include dance performances in the classical evening too. Then the classical musical evening will be a complete one”.
A classical musical evening was also announced at the same event. The event will take place on 18th January at ICCR. Along with Hindole Majumdar, eminent musicians like Sanatana Goswami, Malyaban Chatterjee, Anirban Chakraborty, Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya Amit Chatterjee and others will be performing at this classical musical evening.
