SRK in Kolkata unveils Coffee Table book “Shades of Bengal”
“The spirit and the vibrancy of the city of Kolkata amaze me. The people are very real. When they are angry they will shout at you and when they love you, they will shower affections on you. There is no particular shade that you can assign for this city. All the seven colors of the rainbow can be assigned to the city” said Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan at the unveiling of the coffee table book Shades of Bengal. The event also saw the presence of Mr. Ram Mehrotra, VP, Sales and Marketing, Decorative Paints, Kansai Nerolac Paints Limited.
“Shades of Bengal” is an ode to the spirit of humanity which is reflected in the rich cultural heritage of Bengal. The coffee table book celebrates the spirit of Bengal.
While speaking about the company, Shahrukh Khan said “They have introduced lead free and no smell colors. This will benefit the painters as they will not have to inhale the smell of the colors. This is extremely beneficial for them”.
The superstar spoke about his favorite colors which consisted of black, white and blue. “Given the choice I would have painted the walls of my home in various shades of white with one wall in a bright color. However that is not the case. For instance my daughter’s room was earlier painted pink. Now she I growing up and so she opted for a change of color” revealed the actor.
The actor stayed clear of controversial topics at the press conference. When asked about the change of brand ambassador for the Incredible India campaign, he said “I will not comment anything about it. I was not the brand ambassador earlier and neither have I been made the new brand ambassador. Then why comment and give birth to controversies?”
The actor who felt very much at home in the city however did not like the obsession for sweets that people have in this city. “This is one habit which I have not been able to develop. Kajol gave me Nolen gur and gave me instructions on how to eat it. But I have yet to develop this habit of gulping down sweets” said the Bollywood star with a twinkle in his eyes.
Fan is slated for release this year and the actor hoped that the people will love the film. “I do not understand the concept of fans basically. I prefer calling them people who like me. I have never being able to understand how can people like and love me so much by seeing me for just two hours on the screen. However I respect their feelings. Let’s see how this film Fan fares with those people who like me so much” said Shahrukh Khan.
