Musician Salil Chowdhury’s life Celebrated with ‘Ahoban Shono Ahoban’; A Musical Theater of Sorts



Ahoban Shono Ahoban was a musical theatre based on late musician Salil Chowdhury’s dynamic and creative life. The musical characters of the Maestro from “runner” to “Madhumoti” to “Anand” were brought alive on the podium by some of the leading theatre actors and popular singers of recent time. This was a tribute to the Legend in a first of its own kind way.

21st January will remain as a red letter day in the history as it signifies the beginning of revolution through music with the debut of IPTA stage performance by Salil Chowdhury.


Debojyoti Mishra, said, “Salil da was just not a music composer but an institution to me. He was responsible for a revolution in Bengali popular music scene through his revolutionary music. This production comprises of songs, poetry, drama and hence is a musical theater.”

The production saw the performances of notable singers like Rupankar, Anweshaa Dutta Gupta, Shovan Ganguly, actors like Neel Mukherjee, Koneenica Bandyopadhyay and members from Chetana group theater and ace studio musicians. It was conceived and directed by Debojyoti Mishra.
