The festival will also feature concerts, gala events, lounge parties, seminars, workshops and networking opportunities.
“This is indeed a great moment for me when two of my films namely Belaseshe and Joyee will be screened at this prestigious film festival. I am also glad that Har Har Byomkesh which has also received critical and box office success is also getting screened here. 2016 also marks the tenth year of The Bong Connection and the selection of this film is a feel good factor for us” said director Shiboprosad Mukherjee.
Abir Chatterjee said “We always say limit the budget of the film but we never say expand the markets. As a MBA student, I will urge the individuals associated with this industry to come forward and help in expansion of the markets for the Bengali film industry. That will be helpful for us and the makers will not have to limit their budgets while making the film”.
IFFSA Toronto 2016 will be held from 19th May to 23rd May 2016 in Ontario, Canada as part of South Asian Heritage Month celebrations. Various launch events and special series programs will also take place during the month of April 2016.
