Empowering women who have the strong desire to break the socio-economic barriers to head towards becoming self reliant is one of the prime aims of the scholarship given by the Fair and Lovely Foundation. The preliminary round of interviews for the twelfth edition of the Fair and Lovely Foundation program was held recently.
Women from across Assam, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Manipur, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh and others came to Kolkata to participate in the interview.
The panel of judges consisted of eminent names from different walks of life. Some of the judges included Shataf Figar, Professor Niladri Chatterjee, Professor Kchiram Bera, Supriya Roy Chowdhury (Founder Secretary, Towards Future), Sharmila Majumder (Helpage India) and others.
The scholarship amount ranges up to one lakh rupees, depending on the merit, future plans as well as the financial background of the individual.
With such scholarship programs, many women will be able to give wings to their dreams and become self reliant.
