“We can just help in polishing the skills that an individual possess. We can neither increase nor decrease it. My teacher was Ritwik Ghatak and I studied at the Film and Television Institute of India. The institute is like a coach for an individual. One will be able to get practical knowledge which they will be able to use to further their career in this field” said actor Kalyan Chatterjee.
Director Nehal Dutta said “We have to work with newcomers who hardly have any idea of how to face the camera. Teaching them on location is very difficult because we have to work in shifts and the producer always asks us to complete shoots quickly. Hence, a person with some basic knowledge will be of great help during the shoot of a film”.
With such an institute opening up in Dum Dum Cantonment area, interested individuals will be able to hone their skills and try their luck in the film or television industry!!
