Versatile director Nitish Mukherjee is all prepped up to launch his latest film “Char Adhyay” based on Rabindranath Tagore’ celebrated novel of the same title. Mukherjee’s “Char Adhyay” revisits the classic novel depicting a love story amidst the fight for India’s independence.
The director has given a new insight to the timeless tale which has been woven beautifully around the core idea of this story which is still engaging in the contemporary times.
The film is set in the backdrop of Indian Independence. Ela is a teacher who guides a group of young revolutionaries. They are led by their chief Indranath. On a fateful evening, Ela meets Atin and they fall in love. But Ela’s vow to dedicate her entire life to her country creates a hindrance in their love life. Atin soon joins the revolutionary group so that he can stay close to Ela. However, on witnessing the undercurrent of greed, corruption and cruelty among the revolutionaries, Atin decides to fight for the cause of independence. Now both Ela and Atin are caught in a dilemma between their commitment towards their motherland and their love for each other.
Music of the film has been composed by Prabudha Raha. There are nine songs in the album which have been sung by singers like Kamalini Mukherjee, Shamik Pal, Aditi Gupta and others.
Based on Rabindranath Tagore’s story of the same name, the production, scenario and direction is by Nitish Mukherjee. Mallika Majumdar, Debdoot Ghosh, Tarun Chakraborty, Debottam Majumdar, Sreyashi Chatterjee, Parthajit Mishra, Rohit Mukherjee, Syed Abdur Razzaque, Pratik Sen, Suvobrata De, Chanchal Mukherjee will be seen in important roles in this film. The editing has been done by Saikat Shekhareshwar Ray, Ramlal Pahari.
The film is slated for release on 6th May.
