‘Glimpses of Tagore’ Presented by Pianist and Designer Rajlakshmi Pays Fitting Tribute to Tagore



“Glimpses of Tagore” was a lyrical journey held at Satyajit Ray Auditorium (ICCR) to pay tribute to Rabindranath Tagore. With the help of orchestra, music, songs and readings, different aspects of Tagore’s creative pursuits were highlighted. It was presented by Rajlakshmi Consultancy of the notable pianist Rajlakshmi.


Srabani Sen, a great exponent of Tagore music sang some of Tagore’s gems at the event. Meeryung Hall (Wife of American Consul General in Kolkata) performed with the children from the weaker sections of the society at the same event. Aparajita Mukherjee, a gifted singer in her own right, coming from a corporate background, also sang Tagore songs. Rajeeb Chattopadhyay, a Customs officer by profession and also a singer of Folk and Tagore Songs and Barnani Bardhan , a trained Rabindrasangeet Singer were the other performers.


Srabani Sen sang songs like Aji Shubho Dine, Katobar Bhebechhinu while Meeryung Hall sang Phoole Phoole Dhole Dhole, Purano Sei Diner Kotha. Designer and also a well known pianist Rajlakshmi played the tune of Tagore song like Rimjhim Ghano Ghano Re and so on.

Subha Pal, a former Television Journalist and a writer-director with a number of successful stage productions has conceptualized and written the script of “Glimpses of Tagore”.

 “Glimpses of Tagore” was indeed a great tribute to the Bard.
