Tagore Songs Performed by Raktakarabi, A Noted Music Institution of Bangladesh



Riddhi A Step for Music organized a musical evening with Raktakarabi a well known Music institution of Chittagong, Bangladesh to perform Tagore songs at Birla Academy (Southern Avenue) recently. Students of Raktabarabi performed a musical story telling journey Europe E Rabindranath featuring an impressive and informative presentation. The presentation was essentially about the days the poet spent in Europe. He was the first non European who won the Nobel Prize. He was a global phenomenon.

In 1912 he sailed from India to England. He even got influenced by western music of various kinds and implied into his songs his way. As a whole it showcased how his journey in Europe left a cultural effect on our literature and music. The presentation was followed by a musical Arup Tomar Bani. It was scripted by Uday Shankar Das, while music was arranged by Shila Momen. Songs like Hridoye Chhile Jege, E Monihar Amar Nahi Saje were performed.

Hence it was a musical evening which was both informative and entertaining for all the fans of the Bard!!
