Jodhpur Park Vision Makers, well known for their media and marketing solutions, organized their debut cultural event titled“Bhalobashay Rabindranath”. The event took place at Gyan Manch. The aim of this cultural evening was to cherish and celebrate Tagore’s multidimensional creations.
The evening started with the organizers felicitating Padma Bhushan Sri Soumitra Chattopadhyay. This was followed by a musical interpretation of Rabindranath’s compositions on love “Ei Je Tomar Prem”, scripted by Asish Sengupta. Although Tagore’s songs are classified thematically into sections like Puja, Prem, Prakriti, Swadesh etc., there is one common bond that binds most of his compositions- the bond of love. The script sought to explore this idea through a garland of songs, poems and other writings of the Bard. The recitation and narrations by Soumitra and Poulami Chatterjee kept the audience mesmerized. The depths to which the veteran artiste could modulate his voice according to the emotions mesmerized many seated in the audience. The songs were sung by Anuradha Biswas, Indrani Shah and Suman Bhattacaharyya.
The theme of love found expression in the second segment of the programme when an excerpt from Tagore’s timeless “Sesher Kabita” was presented in the form of Srutinatok by the reputed duo of Biswajit Chakraborty and Madhumita Basu. In the final segment, the troupe Anandadhwani presented a short dance- based musical journey “Ebong Prem” epitomizing the poet’s celebration of love and highlighting the Manipuri school of dance.
Bhalobashay Rabindranath therefore was a great evening for celebrating the multifarious works of the Bard.
