After Piku, Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan was back in Kolkata for the promotions of his upcoming film Madaari. Accompanying the actor was his wife Sutapa Sikdar who is also the producer of this film.
Irrfan khan plays the role of Nirmal Kumar who kidnaps the son of the Home Minister. “Behind this kidnapping story is the story of the loss of his son. Whether the police get hold of Nirmal or whether they manage to rescue the minister’s son is what the story all about” said Irrfan Khan.
The actor, who has a strong Bengali connect, believed that there is some link with this city. “I have been to Kolkata so many times already. Piku, Namesake- the list goes on. My wife is a Bengali and I also love coming back to this city” said the actor.
Irrfan who has not only made his presence felt in Bollywood and also in Hollywood recently worked in Inferno opposite Tom Hanks. “It was like a dream come true for me. He is such a brilliant actor. This was quite a memorable experience for me as an actor” revealed the actor.
Despite being high on the popularity charts, the actor has remained away from many digital platforms. When asked about this aloofness, the actor said “I do not have any individual doing PR work for me. I do not want to change myself. I dislike so much marketing. Everything has become a product in today’s time. Earlier when we needed to purchase anything, we went outside to the shops. Now everything is available in the comforts of your home. If I was capable, I would have completely stayed away from marketing”.
Since the trailer and the songs of the film has been getting positive reviews, the actor is confident that the film will also be gaining good feedback from the audience.
Madaari is slated for release on the 22nd of July.
