Japanese Food Festival Begins at The Wall

Hazuki Fudo Matsuri or the Japanese Food Festival was inaugurated at The Wall recently. The festival has been conceptualized by Chef Sushanta Sengupta.

With the help of this food festival, Chef Sengupta wanted to give the message that Japanese food is not only about sushi, tempura or sashimi. Japanese cuisine is a delicate flavored cuisine which has minimal use of spices and oil. Hence it is healthy and tasty too.

Some of the Japanese delicacies on offer include Buta Kakuni, Koebi No Karage, Tori Tazaitki, Dengaku Toriyanki, Vegetable Sushi Roll, Japanese Flavor of Onigiri, Kaisen Ponju Tamanegi Salad, Yaki Ebi, Tuna Cheesecake and Caramel Banaba with Wasabi Ice Cream.

“The focus is on starters and main course Japanese dishes. There are total of ten items. We mainly deal in South East Asian food. After two months we keep on exploring new regions and the dishes of that region. This leads the customers to taste new dishes and not become bored by tasting the same dishes” said Chef Sushanta Sengupta.

The cost for two will be Rs 1400 plus taxes. Lunch will be available from 12 pm to 3.30pm and dinner will be served from 7pm to 10.30pm. The festival will continue till 28th August.
