In the august presence of Agnimitra Paul, Bali D Sanghvi, Ipshita Bhandari, Urmi Basu, Anindita Sarbadhicari the book launch of My Frozen Embryo took place. The event took place at Oxford Bookstore.
The book My Frozen Embryo is the story of a woman who wants to become a mother more than anything else in the world. However her body betrays her. The mental trauma and the societal pressures that she has to undergo for not being able to become a mother have been shown in the book. She later undergoes treatment, leading to pregnancy and becoming mother of twins.
“This is my personal story and I felt that women undergoing the same problems should face it with more confidence. The society and the family often increase your mental agony. But you will have to deal with it and keep yourself intact. I hope this book helps some women” said writer Bali D Sanghvi.
“When I disclosed that I am becoming a single mother, many were shocked and many criticized me. But at the end of the day this is my life and I will lead it on my terms. Social taboos, it seems are only made for the women. We need to push these rules away. Only then will women be less targeted in the society” said film maker Anindita Sarbadicari.
The book is readily available at Oxford Bookstore and at other book stores in the city.
