EIMPA’s Seminar Rupantar to Address Issues Faced By Directors in Today’s Time

EIMPA, Eastern India Motion Picture Directors’ Association will be organizing a seminar Rupantar on 18th September addressing major issues faced by the directors and technicians in today’s time. To announce this seminar, a press meet was organized which was attended by Gautam Ghosh, Raja Chanda, Ashok Vishwanathan, Bimal Dey, Tarapada Mondal and others.


Some of the issues that will be highlighted in the seminar include the advantages and disadvantages of using digital technique in film making. The problems faced by television and film makers will also be discussed.

Mrinal Sen and Tarun Majumder will be conferred with awards for their lifetime contribution to Indian cinema. Many directors who are financially weak will be provided with regular financial help. A short film festival will also be organized by EIMPA. Short film makers can submit their films (duration maximum thirty minutes) by filling a form and submitting two hundred rupees at the office of EIMPA.


“It is important that ideas have to be discussed between film makers. This will enable one to understand new techniques of film making and make good films. exchange of ideas is very important” said Gautam Ghosh.

Gautam Ghosh and Prosenjit Chatterjee have consented to attend the seminar on 18th September.
