Video: Press Conference of Film Thinking of Him
The theme of the upcoming film Thinking of Him is based on Rabindranath Tagore and the impact of Victoria Ocampo (famous journalist and writer from Argentina) on his life. The film is a joint venture of Johnsons- Suraj Films International, India and Caesar Production, Argentina. A press conference was hosted to announce this project and this was attended by director Pablo Caesar, Raima Sen, Victor Banerjee, Suraj Kumar and others.
“Tagore and Victoria met only twice in their lives. The lady left such an impession on his mind that he compiled a collection of poetry named Purabi and dedicated it to her. I read it as I will be portraying Tagore in this film” said Victor Banerjee.
Raima Sen will be playing a girl who has been born and brought up in Shantiniketan. The actress in her first international film was visibly excited and she looked forward to the shooting of this film.
Director Pablo Caesar said “The education system in today’s time is to commit the matter to memory and vomit it on the paper. But Tagore’s style of education was different. It was liberal which is gaining importance now. This has what attracted me very much. This is the aspect that I also wanted to show in this film”.
The director also said “I wanted an authentic Bengali actor to do the role of Tagore. It is then that I was introduced to Victor Banerjee. It was a great pleasure interacting with him. Most people refer to Messi and Maradona when I say I am from Argentina. No doubt they are great players but we have so much more in Argentina. Hence when he said about our literature I was so very excited”.
The film will be made in three languages namely English, Spanish and Bengali. Eleonora Wexner, Hector Bordoni, Major Bikramjeet Kanwarpal will be seen in important roles in the film.
Carlos Isman is the cinematographer, Jerenimo Toubes is the writer, Nicholas Grandi is the assistant director and Quetzal Emiliano is the sound designer of this film.
The shooting of the film will be done in Shantiniketan, Sundarbans, at Tagore’s house in Kolkata, Argentina and France.
