Indo-Brazilian singer Carlyta Maria Mouhini released her latest Durga Puja song “Dhaak je baje-Maa je elo” in the presence of Debasree Roy, Koneenica Banerjee, S F Karim and others. Actress Papia Adhikari was present at the occasion too.

Carlyta Maria Mouhini is an Indo-Latin international singer. She lent her voice to songs like Le le maza le from the Bollywood film Wanted and sang the Spanish lyrics of Senorita from the film Zindegi Na Milegi Dobara.

Speaking at the occasion, she said “This song is my tribute to my Bengali roots. My paternal grandmother was the last student of Tagore and she was descendant of Rammohan Roy. So she always stressed on the fact that me and my sibling learn Bengali. Hence I thought of paying my tribute to my Bengali lineage during this festive time of the year”.

This is a single video song which has the unique Samba fusion rhythm of Dhaak and Dhol with the Mahalaya slokas interspersed with simple English and Bengali lyrics. The lyrics trace the arrival of the Mother Goddess will her immersion on the day of Dashami.

“There is a sudden positive and energetic vibe to the way she sings the songs. She is lively and that shows in her songs. This time during the immersion ceremony, this song will be a major hit and people will surely groove to the catchy and simple lyrics” said actress Koneenica.

The video has been shot exclusively in Kolkata, Kumartuli, the Ganges and other localities suiting the needs of the song.

The video song has been gaining much popularity online on Youtube where it has been released.
