With Shantanu Moitra, Kuma Sanu, Madhusree Bhattacharya, Palak Muchhal and Jeet Ganguly as judges and Jisshu Sengupta as anchor, the new edition of the popular singing reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2016 are back on Zee Bangla.

In between the shoots, Sholoana Bangaliana correspondent caught up with the judges. Kumar Sanu said “I have been part of an earlier season too. Whenever they start a new season, they call me first before asking the other judges. I am glad they love me so much. This time too they called me and despite some work, I have said yes to the task I have been assigned”.

Speaking about the music in today’s time, Kumar Sanu added “I believe the foot tapping element in music has become dominant now. Melody has gone down. However we must keep in mind that the audiences will itself do the necessary changes. We just need to go on singing good songs. Music will change. We just need to see that the melody and good lyrics is there”.

The format this time has undergone some changes. Every contestant can sing the song that they like. Unlike the previous season, there is no division this time like folk songs, modern songs or classical songs. Rabindrsangeet is the newest addition to the list. The first three episodes will show the audition of the contestants. About 1500 contestants came for the audition. Fifty got selected, out of which 25 will be seen in the show.

Speaking about the show, Shantanu Moitra said “The talent is great. They just need polishing. Doctor, housewife and people from other walks of life has come so that they can pursue their passion in music. Many have not performed ever on stage and yet they sang with so much confidence”.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2016 will begin from 28th November, every Monday to Wednesday at 9.30 pm only on Zee Bangla.
