Video: Kaabil Press Conference in Kolkata
Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan along with actress Yami Gautam was in the city for the promotion of his film Kaabil.
Hrithik recalled how he gave his first public performance in Kolkata. He also added that he is grateful for the love and support that the Bengali fans have given him. “My grandmother was a Bengali and wherever she is now, she will be happy to see me now in Kolkata” said Hrithik.
Speaking about his experience of shooting the film, the actor said “Both Yami and me have learnt a lot from the blind people. They always have a smile on their faces. They may be visually challenged but otherwise they are just like us. Many such visually challenged people have become authors, auditors, cricketers and so on. People with eyesight often do not have the ability to understand the power that these people have”.
Yami who plays a blind girl in the film said “The fact that they are just like us helped us a lot when we were portraying them on screen. They are achievers and go getters. We did not have to do anything else rather than act normal. The visually challenged people do not yearn for the sympathy of the people and this is what has been shown in the film too”.
Hrithik plays a dubbing artist in the film. When questioned about the voice modulations that he did in the film, the actor said “I did a lot of research and I found out that the voice artists actually controlled the muscles in the throat with the help of which they could actually copy the voice of some other individual. So the voices that you heard in the film, 90 percent of that has been done by me”.
Yami Gautam was full of praises for her Kaabil co-actor. Speaking at the event, she said “I have been his fan since a long time. And when I heard I am going to work with him, I gave the OMG expression. It was during working in this film that I came to know that he is the nicest human being that I have come across. You have indeed to be a good man to be so caring about your co-artists”.
Hrithik further said “When we used to act, we used to not see each other. But after the shot, when we saw the monitor, we used to say that they are so sweet. This is amazing that we were actually telling ourselves “they”. This is the magic of these individuals”.
Kaabil is running at many halls in the city. If you have not watched it yet, book a ticket now!!
