Credai Bengal, state chapter of the Confederation of real estate developers association of India and Indian institute of architects took the initiative to organize a two-day architectural convention titled Connecting Histories. The convention was inaugurated by Janab Firhad Hakim, Minister for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Govt of West Bengal and other eminent dignitaries.


Sugata Bose who was present on the inaugural day of the convention highlighted on the fact that the architects must retain the history of the city while building new structures. Demolishing the old buildings is not the right thing to do. In that way, one loses their history and culture.

The whole convention was divided into four sub-themes namely- Humanizing heritage, Design dialect, Where the city sleeps and Grand moves.


Some of the key speakers at the convention include George Fergusson, Pratap Talwar, Juergen Mayer, Kaiwan Mehta, Dr. Joy Sen, Sameep Padora and others.

The two day convention attended by national and international delegates, students helped in exchange of ideas and also helped in broadening the limits of the architectural design.
