Emami Chisel Art hosted a solo exhibition Flames of Creation which showcased eclectic artwork of mixed media, sculptures and paintings by eminent artist Seema Kohli.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Bruce Bucknell, British Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata. Mrs. Henrietta Dorrington Ward, the wife of the British High Commissioner and Dr. Debanjan Chakrabarti, Director, East India, British Council Division, also graced the inauguration of the show.
Seema Kohli is a self –trained artist, a visual story teller whose exhaustive practice spans over three long decades embracing a variety of mediums including paintings, sculptures, video installation and performance art.
Seema Kohli’s works reveals an altered concept of feminine sexuality. It brings into focus a woman’s physical attributes, her intellect, thought, dreams and realities. One of her notable works ‘The Golden Womb’ is a celebration through which the supremacy of a female spirit has been strongly established. Seema Kohli uses her signature style of combining paints with gold foil which can be seen in ‘The Kamadhenu’, an exquisite creation of a cow-bull hybrid figure made of fibre glass.
Seema’s works can be seen as public art at places like Delhi Airport, Mumbai International / Domestic Airport, Manipal University, Hotel Leela Palace Delhi and many other prominent places. She had done 20 solo shows and has been a part of numerous national and international shows across famous art galleries in India, Venice, Hong Kong, Spain, China, Christies (London), Sotheby’s (NY) .
The exhibition will offer selected artworks to all art connoisseurs at prices starting from Rs 15,000 onwards, going up to Rs 13, 00,000.
