The special screening and press meet of the 64th National Award Winning Best Environmental Documentary film The tiger who crossed the line took place recently. Also present at the occasion was the team of the upcoming Bengali film Durga Sohay consisting of director Arindam Sil, actors Sohini Sarkar and Tanusree.

Directed by Krishnendu Bose, the forty five minutes documentary gives a sneak peek in the lives of those tigers which do not get a chance to stay in the reserved forests. As a result they roam in the villages and cities, often terrorising the people.

Speaking about the film, Krishnendu Bose said “We all complain as to why the animals come to the towns and cities. But we never think about the loss of homes that the tigers have to face. Humans have taken away so much of the forest area and when the tigers do not get a proper place in the forest, they come to the human localities”.

Conservation also was the main topic highlighted by ace Tollywood director Arindam Sil. He also added that humans need to be more responsible and care for the environment.

The film saw a packed audience and was a great boost for the morale of the director who have toiled three-four years to make this film.
