Institute of Engineering and Management’s Students Invented Two Unique Products

Institute of Engineering and Management (IEM), Salt Lake Kolkata’s students invented two devices recently. A press meet was organized to display the two devices invented by the students of this institute.

One of the outcomes of the extensive research at this institute is a full autonomous GPS based Quad Copter for disaster management. The low cost device will help in establishing communication between quad copter and the operator.

The other outcome of the research is the device which will make rising in taxis in cars safe for the women. The cost of the device is Rs 1000. The device can be easily installed in the cars which will divide the cars in two compartments. Additional safety latches will be welded in the body of the car and unless the person sitting inside opens it, the driver or any other person will not be able to open it.

The students and teachers hope that with the installation of such devices in cars, many untoward incidents can be prevented.

Prof Dr Satyajit Chakrabarti said that they have applied for the patents on both the products. He also mentioned that in the past year, many students have developed many start up companies.

We hope that the students will carry on with the good research and invent such useful devices in future.
