Fortis Hospital, Anandapur conducted a patient reconnect session to increase awareness on precautions and prevention of asthma. Dr Raja Dhar, Consultant Pulmonology, Fortis Hospital, Anandapur spoke at length about the various aspects of the disease and its management to the assembled audience.
Dr. Dhar highlighted on the fact that prevention is better than cure and cited ways in which one can keep asthmatic triggers at bay. Citing examples, the doctor said that cleaning the house with a wet mop is better than dusting with a broom. That will increase the chances of an asthmatic attack as most people are prone to getting attacks when exposed to dust.
Dr. Dhar also mentioned that getting the asthma noticed in the initial stages helps a patient much. One can change the lifestyle accordingly and also take the necessary medicines to keep any attacks at bay.
Change of season has also been found to trigger asthmatic troubles in individuals. It is during this time that one must take more care of their health. Wearing masks to avoid pollens from entering the system can be a good way to prevent attacks, cited the doctor.
The session was an enlightening one and many patients cleared their doubts that they had about the problem with Dr. Dhar.
