In the august presence of director Gautam Ghosh, sound designer Anup Mukherjee, Debasish Kumar (MIC, KMC), Joydeep Mukherjee and others, the first 7.1 audio mixing theatre in Kolkata was inaugurated.
Named Edit-on-line India, the new audio mixing theatre will help the directors in Kolkata to get the best mixing techniques in Kolkata. “Previously the directors had to go out of Kolkata to complete the mixing of the films. They could only do the pre-mixing part in Kolkata. But with the introduction of this technique, they can now mix the films sitting in Kolkata. This will be of much help for them” said Joydeep Mukherjee.
Joydeep Mukherjee was also very optimistic that this will change the sound-scape of Bengali films. He also added that the producers need to understand the minimal cost that the audio mixing involves and they must be ready to pay that.
With the opening of this audio mixing theatre, we hope that the directors will be able to get good quality sound design for their films.
