With Rabindranath Tagore’s 156th birth anniversary, the city was ready with various events to commemorate the special occasion. Two Poets was a special musical conceived by versatile Assam based vocalist Chandrima Bhattacharya. The evening was a magical blend of Tagore’s classics with the same of legendary poet-lyricist Gulzar. Both are poets from different times but this musical revolved around the similarities between their creative aspects. Their philosophy about journey of life was connected well. It showed how the way a living legend got inspired from another legendary poet from a different era.
Sudarshan Chakravorty, an ace choreographer presented the musical journey in the role of a story teller for the first time. With this event, he unwrapped a new avatar of his creative aspect.
The script was done by Angshuman Bhattacharya, supported by Romil and Sudipta Chanda. Sudarshan’s presentation of Barish a poetry by Gulzar sounded soulful, while Chandrima’s rendition on numbers as Sham Se Ankh Mein Nami Si Hai, Sawan Sasura Sataye,Amar Ei Path Chawatei Ananda kept everyone mesmerized.
Many celebrities graced the event which was held at First Flush.
