Video: Cooking Competition at the Bengal Mango Festival 2017

ICC organized a cookery competition at Milan Mela ground to add glory to the Bengal Mango Festival 2017. Renowned chef Sharmistha Dey was present at the event to judge the participants and also select the winner among them.

kolkata-mango-festivalEighty participants from all over the city came to participate in the event. The participants had to cook a salty delicacy and sweet delicacy with mango as the key ingredient.

kolkata-cooking-competitionSpeaking about the event, Chef Sharmistha Dey said “It is indeed great to see that a cooking competition has been made around mangoes. This is a first of its kind. I know many will be able to make great sweet delicacies using mango. The challenge will be to make a salty delicacy using mangoes. Let’s see how the participants fare in the challenge”.

bengal-mango-festival-2017The chef also revealed that Himsagar and Langda are her favourite mangoes. However she was looking forward to exploring more varieties at the Mango Festival.
