Argha Deep Chatterjee is debuting as a feature film director with his horror-thriller movie JOJO starring Anirban Bhattacharya, Darshana Banik, Saayoni Ghosh and Satyam Bhattacharya in pivotal roles.
Mrittika (played by Darshana) is a young girl who stays alone in Kolkata. She left her hometown after an incident which happened during her school life. Once day while leaving for a party with her boyfriend Rahul (played by Satyam Bhattacharya), she receives a call from an unknown caller who alerts her regarding Rahul. She does not pay heed to the caller’s words. She went to the party and after a few drinks she felt uneasy and left the party with a heavy heart that Rahul had cautiously drugged her. On the way back to her home she is not able to manage herself in proper sense and hence she ran over a man. Being scared of her misdeed of murdering someone she ran away from the scene.
She shared the whole incident with her best friend Poulami (Saayoni Ghosh). Poulami suggested her to stay away from the city for some time to avoid legalities. Poulami was supposed to be at a place for babysitting but she was leaving for a meet at Jamshedpur. So she requested Mrittika to take the responsibility of babysitting. Mrittika went there and to her surprise she sees that she has to take care of a doll named Jojo whom the house owners see as their own son. Mrittika also meets Anirban (played by Anirban Bhattacharya) who reveals that Jojo is treated as a human child. She feels Jojo is not just a doll. What happens next?
JOJO has been written by Argha Deep Chatterjee and the music has been composed by Nilanjan Ghosh. The cinematography is by Amlan Saha.
The movie is being jointly produced by Sharktooth and Drishti Art & Creations.
