Poet, Editor, Journalist Vaijayantee Bhattacharya unveiled her first poetry anthology, Mosaic Vision at the Oxford Book Store in the presence of Jawhar Sircar, Sunanda Mukherjee, Chairperson, West Bengal Commission for Women. Dr Sanjukta Dasgupta, Professor (Eng Dept.-Calcutta University), Mr Shahenshah Mirza, descendant of Nawab Wajid Ali Shah, Social and Green Activist, Saira Shah Halim, Educator, activist and poet and Saheli Mitra, Journalist, author, poet and columnist.
Vaijayantee’s first poetry book is a collection of poems across various years, moods and reflections that record the emotional evolution of a perceptive woman, as she sailed across cities and continents riding upon the waves of life.
Mosaic Vision, an anthology of some of Vaijayantee’s poems written over the span of last 8 years reflect the thoughts, realizations and philosophy of a woman who has moved to different cities and countries. The poems are varied in their subjects, themes and tones. They form a beautiful mosaic pattern that helps the reader get a wholesome understanding of a modern woman.
After the official unveiling of the book, the session was followed with a screening of a short film on the journey of poet and philosopher Vaijayantee through different cities and countries, embracing life and responding to its different shades through poetry. The launch was followed by the aforesaid panel discussion.
