On the eve of the 72nd anniversary of the disappearance of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a press meet was organized by his family members under the banner of The Open Platform for Netaji.
The main topic of discussion at the open forum was the urgent need for the Indian Government to take measures in unraveling the mystery around his disappearance. The members of Netaji’s family praised the Government’s decision to declassify all files relating to Netaji. They also highlighted that not much has been done since that decision has been taken.
The speakers at the press meet highlighted on issues like conduct a DNA test on the alleged ashes of Netaji and ascertain the authenticity, appoint a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to scrutinise all documents released, declassify all files, rectify distortions in published accounts about Netaji’s role in Indian independence movement and so on.
A rally was also taken out on 18th August from Netaji’s statue on Red Road to Netaji Bhavan to create public awareness about the need of the measures talked about at the press meet.
