Video: Trailer Launch of Shob Bhooturey
The official trailer launch of the upcoming Bengali film Shob Bhooturey took place at Basubati in the presence of director Birsa Dasgupta, Abir Chatterjee, Sohini Sarkar, Ida Dasgupta and others.
Director Birsa Dasgupta who did not want to give away much of the story revealed some points about the story. “The story revolves around a closed publication which published stories on ghosts, a closed school in a village and so on. The reason for the closing of the school and the publication have a link and this will be revealed in the film” said the director.
Sohini Sarkar who plays Nandini in the film said “I love the ghost stories written by Bangladeshi author Humayun Ahmed. They have a certain charm of their own. I dislike the ghosts shown in the Bollywood films. Having white paint on their face or wearing various coloured lenses does not constitute a ghost”.
Speaking about her experiences of shooting the film, the actress said “I used to talk less and be immersed in my character. This was done so that whenever they asked me for a shot, I could give in my hundred percent. Had I given in to their jokes, which I always wanted to, I would have gone away from the character”.
The film marks the debut of Birsa Dasgupta’s daughter Ida Dasgupta. “Everyone must come and watch the movie at the halls or else I will be very angry” said the six year old young actress.
Abir Chatterjee who is working in a full length ghost film for the first time had a great time shooting the film. The actor assured that his fans will love the film and the film has remained true to the essence of Bangaliana and the ghost stories which many of us have grown up listening.
The film is eyeing for release on 8th September.
