The Cambridge School Celebrated Spirit of Independence and Global Ties



The Cambridge School, celebrated the spirit of Independence and global ties, on the 70thyear of freedom, at their school campus. The celebrations began in the presence of Chief Guest Bruce Bucknell, British Deputy High Commissioner of Kolkata, who hoisted the National Flag. The event also saw the presence of Sarojesh Mukerjee, Director, The Cambridge School, Mrs. Sunita Chowdhary, Principal, The Cambridge School and its students.

Keeping up with the essence of the celebration, saplings were distributed amongst the students by the Chief Guest, who spoke about an individual’s responsibility of keeping the planet green and healthy by planting more trees around us. The gathering also witnessed the distribution of certificates by Mr. Bucknell to the winners of the Film Review competition.


Dressed in saffron, white and green, the students, hailing from the different parts of the world shared their experiences about being a part of India. The programme concluded with the students performing skits and dances around the theme of Independence.
