Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 saw a huge turn up of Bollywood celebrities who walked down the ramp for many designers. Listed below are the celebrities who walked the ramp for the designers at the recently held Lakme Fashion Week 2017.
Bollywood actress Sonal Chauhan, walked down the runway in a metallic kimono style dress accessorized with a leather belt, which was a perfect party number. She walked the ram for Rara Avis by Sonal Verma’s ‘Colander’ collection.
Sayani Gupta, the Bollywood beauty stopped the show in a sequined mini dress from Shweta Kapur’s Label ‘431-88’.
Disha Patani looked gorgeous as she stopped the show in white shorts under a sheer, white, corset, asymmetric, will-power creation that shimmered with splashes of rose embroidery. This was part of ‘Sweet Surrender’ by The Label Ritu Kumar.
Sanya Malhotra, walked in playfully in a beautiful grey knotted jacket with quotes like “Saving the World” on its sleeves, “Super Woman” on the back and childlike drawings turned her into a chic trendsetter. She walked the ramp for Sonali Pamnani’s label ‘The Meraki Project’.
The ‘Chola’ label by Sohaya Misra showcased a collection ‘One Love. One People. One Planet’ created with the ‘Recca’ fabric for the ‘Restart Fashion’ initiative. Stopping the show in a stylish but lively way was the super hairstylist, Adhuna Bhabani who rocked down the ramp in checked asymmetric waistcoat, white relaxed shirt and grey elephant pants.
Keeping to his characteristic clean, relaxed lines, Anuj Bhutani used the fabrics from Geetanjali Woollens in a comfortable, fluid, style that will appeal to both sexes. The colours were neutral but deep, in shades of beige, grey, dusty green and orange. Making a dashing final entry was the award-winning star of the hit film ‘Neerja’, Jim Sarbh who strolled jauntily down the ramp in a long tunic, Bermudas and relaxed coat.
Inspired by the beautiful Princesses of India who loved to innovate with the saris, Sailesh Singhania paid tribute to their beauty with ‘The Winter Rose’ collection at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. Stopping the show was actress Radhika Apte, who glided down in a yellow/gold brocade lehenga teamed with a blouse and attached flowing cape.
The name Farah Khan is synonymous with fine jewellery for the past two decades and the designer’s presentation of artistic masterpieces in gold and precious stones is mind blowing. Farah’s collection ‘Elysian Dreams’ matched the intergalactic look by Falguni and Shane Peacock at the fashion week. Stopping the glamorous show was the very bubbly and vivacious Preity Zinta who looked dazzling in an off-shoulder floor-length smoky grey gown with exquisite emerald earrings made her look like a princess.
Nikita Mhaisalkar with her label named after her, offered a range of flamboyant yet eccentric silhouettes at the 6Degree Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. Bollywood actress Kalki looked amazing in a lined long white top while the pants were sheer with shimmer detailing of taar embroidery.
Neha Agarwal presented a fascinating women’s wear collection ‘Mithila in Soho’ at 6Degree Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. The clothes spoke of a raw and bold look in a range of contemporary evening wear inspired by Madhubani Art. Gorgeous actress Chitrangada Singh looked absolutely stunning in a printed trumpet dress that was daringly revealing yet mesmerizingly beautiful in multi-colours and striking embroidery.
Project Eve unveiled the fabulous Festive Winter 2017 collection by international couturier Rahul Mishra, winner of the International Woolmark prize 2014. Shraddha Kapoor walked down the ramp in a gorgeous embellished monsoon crane lehenga with hand embroidered muga silk magenta blouse and the superbly crafted chintz, scalloped, dupatta.
The Caprese Autumn/Winter 2017 saw actress Rhea Chakraborty walking down the ramp in a printed back tie-up, bias dress and a striking pink shoulder bag.
Monaco Tourism brought the collection by designer, Amit Aggarwal at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. The ensembles were a masterly showcase of construction, style, detailing and embellishments. Esha Gupta ended the show in a gold moulded corset blouse worn with an electric blue lehanga that dazzled with gold appliquéd flowers.
Hyderabad based designer Shriya Bhupal emerged as a young successful couturier in a short period of time because of her eye for skill and technicality. Strong silhouettes adorned the fragile embroidery in multiple patterns and techniques that depicted a unique balance of comfort with style in her collection. Bollywood actress Diana Penty looked stunning as she strutted down the ramp in a structured, ball-room worthy, floral, ivory gown with intricate detail.
Closing the ‘Lakmé Salon Show Stopping Bride’ Show was actress Siyami Kher, star of the movie ‘Mirziya’ who looked stunning in a deep indigo, layered, scalloped, lehanga, choli with wreath embroidery and a sparkling dupatta.
For Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 the SVA label by Sonam and Paras Modi presented their ‘Naseem Bagh’ collection inspired by the Chinar leaves with elements and motifs from the Kashmir Valley. Bollywood actress Vani Kapoor walked the ramp in a scarlet lehanga set with a stylised blouse accessorized with a metallic belt.
When the inspiration is the lovely Princess Niloufer of Hyderabad and daughter-in-law of the Nizam of the State, the collection has to be a royal bridal offering. Anushree Reddy known for her splendorous wedding trousseaux unveiled another breath-taking collection called ‘Niloufer’ at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. Nargis Fakhri looked dazzling as she took the runway in a mustard scalloped zardosi lehenga with an ornate silk blouse and a delicate dupatta draped gracefully.
Ridhi’s ‘Adorne’ collection at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 was inspired by the beauty and intricate interiors of Islamic domes. Bollywood beauty Malaika Arora made a show stopping entry in sheer, red, tulle, jumpsuit lavishly covered with tassels and a seductive long trail with beaded fringing.
For Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017, Arpita Mehta unveiled her ‘Midnight Muse’. The fabrics on Arpita’s favoured list were silk, chiffon, Tabi silk and georgette that were moulded into the most gorgeous, feminine silhouettes. Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon looked regal as she glided down in an ornate bralet and lehenga with enticing ruffled long trails to close the show.
Jayanti Reddy known for her glamorous, ethnic, fusion, formal wear created a gorgeous collection for the festive season. Inspired by the colours and fashion of the Byzantine period, Jayanti brought the razzle-dazzle of the past onto the catwalk. The show ended with Aditi Rao Hydari, who looked like a Byzantine period princess in a black full-flared lehenga, maxi Anarkali style jacket, soft gold bandeau blouse and dupatta – all embroidered in golden hues walking down the ramp.
Divya Reddy made a strong fashion statement when she declared ‘green’ as the new black, at 6Degree Studio during Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. Tapsee Pannu wore the hottest shade of pink and broke the monotony of the muted tones of green and salmon pink. Wearing a stunning floor-length, long-sleeved, intricately, embellished jacket over a sheer delicately embroidered piece, she looked beautiful.
Bridal wear designer, Manoj Agarrwal composed an iconic collection that was authentic and rich in heritage at 6Degree Studio at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. Eli Avram looked like a timeless bride in her all-red, embroidered, lehenga with a long embellished trail and well draped dupatta.
Ruchi Roongta and Rashi Agarwal for their label ‘Ruceru’ offered a collection “The Fallen Leaves” that was flamboyant yet eccentric at the 6Degree Studio at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. Bollywood actor from the hit movie ‘Toilet’ Bhumi Pednekar graced the ramp in a red floral, embroidered Ghaghra.
Hardika Gulati at the 6Degree Studio at the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 presented a line of silhouettes with high-octane creativity. Actress Kiara Advani from the blockbuster film ‘M S Dhoni’, wore a black fitted dress with a layered, textured and structured bodice.
Kusum and Karishma Luharuwal for their label Faabiiana presented a mélange of unconventional textiles with their collection “DESERT ROSE” at the 6Degree Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. The lovely Dia Mirza when she walked the ramp in a fully embroidered deep ‘V’ neck, floor-length Chikankari jacket and ghaghra with perfect Gota work.
Nancy Luharuwalla’s label ‘De Belle’ presented an exciting and innovative but totally wearable women’s wear collection “Allure By De Belle” at the 6Degree Studio at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017.The gorgeous Bollywood actress, Illeana D’Cruz graced the ramp in a black off- shoulder, full-flared dress with floor-kissing sleeves.
At the Johnnie Walker – The Journey show Asa Kazingmei made fashion lovers in the audience applaud his amazing creativity. The designer has catered to men’s and women’s wear buyers with the Bollywood starry clientele lining up for his edgy structured clothes with extreme detailing in leather and denim. Ending the show was the ‘true blue warrior’ Vidyut Jamwal, whose leather /denim jacket, multi pocket pant with zippered detailing and vest proved that he was all ready to fight it out.
Splash Fashion showcased its Autumn Winter 17 collection at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017. The collection draws inspirations from feminity of inter woven threads celebrating the 90s’ sporty grunge, the military safari and glamorous power of luxe pret wear. The newly appointed brand ambassadors Sunny Leone and Randeep Hooda walked the ramp for Splash India as showstoppers.
NEXA, the premium retail experience outlet of Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. collaborated with Bollywood’s ace designer, Manish Malhotra and presented a dazzling fashion happening called ‘Tales of Indulgence’.
For such a high-octane show, the showstopper choice was the very dashing and handsome, Aditya Roy Kapoor in a black, velvet one-button jacket with a contrast black embroidered lapels. Following him was the utterly, breath-taking, gorgeous, Jacqueline Fernandez who looked sensational in a long-sleeved, embroidered, net floor-skimming creation, over micro shorts, which showed off an intensely fantastic beaded back and black tulle stole.
Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2017 was therefore high on glitz and glamour.
