Bengali Books Pantabhate and Pluto Written by Gulzar Released in Kolkata



Gulzar- poet, lyricist, film maker, elocutionist and actor released two of his books in Bengali in Kolkata. Pantabhate (translated by Sanchari Mukherjee) revolves around remembrance of some great Bengali personalities that he met in his creative journey like Satyajit Ray, Kishore Kumar, R.D.Burman,Suchitra Sen, Uttam Kumar, Mahashweta Devi and so on.

The other book released was Pluto (translated by Sk. Sadar Nayeem) a book of his poetry translated in Bengali. Both the books are published by Dey’s Publishing and launched by eminent poet Shankha Ghosh and noted filmmaker Sandip Ray. This was followed by an adda session Guftgu with Gulzar with Shantanu Moitra, Srijato.

An exhibition on Gulzar was held for the first time in city at Nandan Four. It featured many rare documents like film posters, booklets, record covers, photographs, book covers and so on.
