Video: Audio Music Album Launch of Rendez-Vous
Madhuchhanda Dutta, an ardent fan of Rabindranath Tagore’s songs has used her knowledge of the French language to sing a few selected songs of Tagore in French. The music album titled Rendez-Vous (Tagore songs in French and Bengali) was released recently in the presence of Soumitra Chatterjee, Ramananda Bandopadhyay, Pabitra Sarkar, French Consul General Damien Syed and others.
Apart from Madhuchhanda Dutta, Rupankar have also lent his voice to the songs in the album. There are six songs in the album, the music of which has been arranged by Tanmoy Bose. The songs are Oi malatilata dole, Ami chini go chini tomare, Aloy alokmoy korey hey, Gramchara oi ranga matir poth, Tomar khola hawa and Bado bedonarmawto bejechho.
With the help of this album, Madhuchhanda wants the French speaking people globally to understand the genius of the creations of Tagore.
Speaking at the event, Soumitra Chatterjee said “I am glad that Madhuchhanda took such an initiative. Even in India, Tagore’s songs are not much translated in other languages. This will be a good effort to popularize the songs of the Bard in other languages and show his genius to the listeners”.
Priced at Rs 150, the album has been brought out by Bhavna Records.
