Wasabee, the brain child of Indian percussionist Pandit Tanmoy Bose have moved to a new place (Garfa, Jadavpur). In the presence of director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and singer Rupam islam, the new re-launch event took place at this new outlet of the food joint.


Wasabee is an Oriental food serving food joint which is co-owned by Pandit Tanmoy Bose and Debraj Chowdhury. The main aim behind moving to this new location in its fifth year is to have a more spacious space for the patrons. The new joint has fifty plus seats and will be open from 11 am to 11 pm.

The interiors of the restaurant have a Japanese influence as can be understood from the cherry blossom paintings hanging from the wall.


Speaking at the event, Pandit Tanmoy Bose said “Bengalis love Chinese and many have tried out Thai cuisine as well. But Japanese, Burmese and Singaporean cuisine also has great dishes which the patrons need to know about. Hence we have come up with the latest additions”.

Not only has the food joint moved to a new location, there have been new additions to the menu as well. Singaporean and Burmese cuisine have been added to the already existing menu so as to give the patrons a wide range of choices.


The event also saw the official website launch of Wasabee ( The owners also have the aim of opening up new outlets in future in Kolkata.
