World Vision India (WVI), a humanitarian organization working for child protection, launched a nationwide campaign to end sexual abuse and exploitation by 2021 in Kolkata. The campaign was launched by Ananya Chakraborti, Chairperson, West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights. The campaign is titled “It takes every Indian to end child sexual abuse”.
Speaking at the event, Ananya Chakraborti said “India has the world’s largest number of sexually abused children. It is the duty of the elders to make them aware of good and bad touch. We must not casually say that the child is imagining things when it comes to abuse. Instead one must take steps to prevent them and make the child aware of the issues”.
Students from different schools took the stage and brought forward their perspective on child abuse.
