Sholoana Bangaliana correspondent caught up with the director in an exclusive chat about the film. Excerpts..

Priyanka Dutta, Sholoana Bangaliana- Tell us about the story of the film Jio Pagla.
Ravi Kinagi- The film is based on a play Joy Ma Kali Boarding. Yesteryear actor Bhanu Bandhopadhyay acted in it. We have made the film on this play. This is an out and out comedy film which can be enjoyed by all the members of a family this Diwali.

This is a popular play. Many audiences may have seen the play and they may compare the two. Was adapting the play for the big screen challenging?
Ravi Kinagi- The play was extremely popular and was written according to those times. When we adapted the play for the big screen, we made some changes so that the contemporary audiences will be able to relate with it. I hope that the audiences will love this big screen adaptation.

You have worked with an ensemble cast in your earlier films. How was the shooting experience for Jio Pagla?
Ravi Kinagi- It was great. Everyone had great understanding and supported each other very much. This will be evident in their acting too. It was a complete teamwork from the start till the end.

Can you tell about the music in this film?
Ravi Kinagi- The music is by Jeet Gannguli and there are three songs in the film. The songs have been getting positive response from the audience.

You shot a comedy film. Surely you had some funny moments during the shoot. Can you share such moments with us?
Ravi Kinagi- Soham and Boney after getting dressed up as women used to treat the men of the cast as women. That led to hilarious outcomes. Even while shooting the scenes, often they used to burst out laughing. Even if the actors did not laugh, the technicians burst out laughing. Every moment was full of fun and laughter.

Bollywood biggies will be releasing during Diwali. How do you think Jio Pagla will fare?
Ravi Kinagi- I am extremely confident that the film will do well. Good story, great music, excellent acting will ensure that the audiences will like the film and go to the hall to watch it.

We also hope that Jio Pagla achieves much success when it releases this Diwali. All the Best!!
