Puppetry as an art has its roots in Indian culture. It has always been an art to entertain the people. To regenerate the emotions attached with this art form, PUN (Puppets Unite Neighbours) will be organizing the largest PUN Puppet Festival in Kolkata this year.


A press meet was announced to inform the people about this festival. Present at the meet was Gurpreet Kaur Sethi (Director RGV Events and Consultancy and Founder of PUN), Lalit Bhutoria (CEO Gems Akademia International School), Sudip Gupta (Dolls Theatre and Team PUN) and others.

The festival will continue from 26th to 31st October. The festival will begin from Mohar Kunja with a Puppet festival street parade. Many school students will be participating in the parade along with props.


Some of the places where the puppet festival will be organized include Gems Akademia International School, Quest Mall, PC Chandra (Tulip Venue), Snow Park at Axis Mall, Gyan Manch. The closing ceremony will take place at Gyan Manch Auditorium.

Puppeteers from countries like UK, Germany, Peru, Portugal, Italy, Lithuania, Brazil, Singapore and India will participate in the event.


Variety of puppet acts ranging from string, rod, glove, shadow, knee, giant, human, theatre, street, interactive and balloon puppetry will be a treat to watch at this festival.
