indian-silent-film-shirazAnoushka Shankar who composed music for the first time for a film was visibly excited about the job. “This is something that I have not done before. I have composed music for my independent albums. There I could do things in my way. But here I did not have much reference to go on with. And I had to create something that will go with the film in a good way. So it was challenging” said the musician.

Anoushka also said that coming back to Kolkata always felt like homecoming to her. For composing the music of Shiraz, she has used both Indian and Western instruments to get the music right.

The next screening of the film will happen in Delhi and Mumbai. After the Indian tour is over, the film will be screened around the UK in January 2018 and will be released on Blu-Ray by BFI.
