Upcoming Bengali film Baranda is based on a story by eminent Bengali writer Moti Nandi. Director Reshmi Mitra, Rituparna Sengupta, Bratya Basu, Manali Dey, music director Raja Narayan Deb, Saheb Bhattacharya and others graced the trailer launch occasion.


The music and background score of the film has been composed by Raja Narayan Deb. There is only one song in the film. “I am glad that I could get to compose music for a song written and sung by Nachiketa. I have been his fan since childhood and this has been a dream come true for me” said the music composer.


Speaking at the occasion, Manali Dey said “I feel privileged to have shared the screen with such great actors. When I used to complete the shoot, I could not look at myself in the mirror. Such was my look in the film. But this has been a great experience”.


Bratya Basu who plays an important role in the film highlighted on the fact that this is a different film and will be providing relief for many audiences who have got tired of watching remakes and slapstick comedies.

Reshmi Mitra mentioned that the film has been getting appreciation at different film festivals. She is now looking forward to the response that she gets in Kolkata.


The film has been produced by Easel, an Aatreyee Nirman Initiative.

The film will be shown at the 23rd Kolkata International Film Festival which will be starting from 10th November.
